ASME SA537 Class 2

ASME SA537 Class 2 steel – a pressure vessel grade steel which is an alloy of carbon, manganese and silicon. The steel is used extensively in the fabrication and manufacture of pressurised tanks, boilers and heat exchangers.
Heat treated using the quenched and tempered method, the material has higher residual tensile and yield strength when compared to pressure vessel grades produced under the ASME SA516 standard. ASME SA537 Class 2 is used extensively by the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
Masteel UK Limited supplies ASME SA537 Class 2 plates from stock or directly from the mill. As with all our steels, the material comes with its own stamping and mill certification.
