ASTM A516
We stock and supply a wide range of pressure vessel steel plate grades for working environments where safe operating pressure is critical.
Our pressure vessel steel is of Western European origin which is the steel of choice for the world’s boiler & pressure vessel fabricators.
Masteel UK Limited have a global reputation for the supply of high quality pressure vessel steel to these fabricators and many of them are suppliers to some of the worlds largest gas, oil and petrochemical companies.
ASTM A516 Grade 60
ASTM A516 Grade 60 is a boiler and pressure vessel quality steel which is ideal for moderate and lower temperature service.
The material is used extensively by industrial boiler and pressure vessel fabricators who provide manufacturing support to the oil, gas and petrochemical industry. The steel has good weldability and excellent notch toughness.
At Masteel UK Limited, we keep a healthy stock of ASTM A516 Grade 60 carbon steel plates. These plates come with mill certification in compliance with EN10204 3.1 or EN10204 3.2. and are hard stamped and fully traceable. Alternatively we can ship to you directly from the mill.
Please refer to the data tables below. Should your require a pressure grade steel with greater tensile and yield strength, please refer to ASTM A516 Grade 65 and/or ASTM A516 Grade 70.

ASTM A516 Grade 65
ASTM A516 Grade 65 is an excellent weldable carbon steel choice for pressure vessels and boiler fabrication. The material offers excellent performance in lower than ambient temperature service, has good weldability and excellent notch toughness.
A516 Grade 65 has greater specified tensile and yield strength when compared with ASTM A516 Grade 60
Used throughout the oil, gas and petrochemical industry, the steel is also found in sour service and wet H2S applications (where the steel is HIC tested).
Masteel UK Limited stock ASTM A516 Grade 65 carbon steel plates which come with mill certification in compliance with EN10204 3.1 or EN10204 3.2. The plates are hard stamped and are fully traceable.

ASTM A516 Grade 70
Masteel supply high quality carbon steel plate for boiler and pressure vessel fabrication which is ideally suited to the high standards set by the oil, gas and petrochemical industry – this is why we stock an extensive range of carbon plates according to ASTM A516 Grade 70.
ASTM A516 Grade 70 is an excellent choice for service in lower than ambient temperature applications, has excellent notch toughness and is used in both pressure vessels and industrial boilers.
A516 Grade 70 offers greater tensile and yield strength when compared to ASTM A516 Grade 65 and can operate in even lower temperature service.
Our plates come with mill certification in accordance with EN10204 3.1 or EN10204 3.2. Our plates are fully traceable, usually with hard stamping and we welcome any third party or customer inspection if required which can be arranged with the client.
