Masteel UK is a leading provider of high-quality steels worldwide. We supply a large range of different steel products to a variety of industries.

Structural Steel

Structural steel is just one type of steel that we supply. This type of steel is widely used in the construction industry to make structural steel shapes. Standard shapes of structural steel include I-beam, bars, rods, rail profiles and plates.

S355

S355 is a common carbon structural steel that has a minimum yield strength of 50,000 ksi and the tensile strength of this steel ranges from 470 – 630 MPa. This steel covers the EN 100025: 2004 standard.

It is a non-alloy steel, and it is potentially the most popular grade for construction due to its high strength. S355 structural steel is often employed in the construction and engineering industries, typical applications include structural steelwork (bridge components, etc.), wind tower components, power plants, load-handling equipment, and mining equipment.

S355J2+N

Depending on the customer requirement there are different types of S355 structural steel available.

Masteel are now stocking S355J2+N in sheets of 10 – 80 mm. This grade of steel is Charpy tested at 40 Joules at -20oC and it is supplied in the normalized condition. It is an enhancement of the structural steel we already provide at Masteel.

The high yield strength of these steel makes it the ideal choice for use as critical components and major structural parts.

Masteel provide a large range of different structural steel grades in addition to the ones mentioned in this blog post. Whatever your requirement we have the knowledge and resources to provide you with the best option possible. Please contact us if you would like any more information about our products or services.
